One of the main objectives of an Annual General Meeting (AGM) is to seek nominations and select a new Committee for the following year. At the AGM, all positions are declared vacant and nominations for the following season sought.

While our kids are a local sporting clubs reason for existence, it’s the parents who are its means of existence.

As such we ask all parents to contribute in one way or another, as a coach, team manager, goal umpire on game day or if your skills and time limitations dictate on the committee.

Here is a list of roles that we are seeking to fill at SBJFC, please have a read, ask questions, and don’t turn away thinking you don’t have the time. Call a current committee member to ask for their thoughts on what you could contribute, ask a friend to take on a position together, there is always a way and as the ageless saying goes, many hands make light work.

We have received nominees for the following positions for 2018
• Coach Coordinator* (Reports to the Club Executive)
• Functions and Events Coordinator (Reports to the President and General Committee)
• Merchandising Sales Coordinator (Reports to the President & Club Secretary)
• President* (Executive role, accountable to the Members and the General Committee)
• Treasurer (Executive role, accountable to the President and the General Committee)
• Vice President
(Executive role, accountable to the President and the General Committee)

We are seeking nominations for the following positions:
• Canteen Operations (Reports to the Club Committee) – PLEASE CONTACT Rick Ryan or Simon Eaton to discuss ideas for how the canteen can be run in 2018.
• Facility Management (Reports to the Club Committee)
• Game day line marking (functional role, liaises with the president)
• Head Medical Trainer (Reports to the Vice President and Club Executive)
• Marketing / Promotions Officer (Reports to the Club Executive)
• Registrar (Liaises with the Club Secretary and Treasurer, Reports to President and General Committee)
• Secretary* (Executive role, accountable to the President and the General Committee)
• Sponsorship Coordinator (Reports to the President & Club Secretary)

Executive positions (Coaching Coordinator is on the Executive ex officio) NOTE: we are often asked ‘what does a specific role entail’, the real answer is ‘how long is a piece of string….’ But that doesn’t tell you much so SBJFC uses the AFL’s Job Descriptions for roles within a football club, see http://www.aflcommunityclub.com.au/index.php?id=222 which provides a great overview of each role HOWEVER at SBJFC are to be used ONLY as generic descriptors as they sometimes include responsibilities/ jobs that are not relevant to a small club like SBJFC.

So PLEASE when reading the job descriptors read it as a general guide only.

Everyone on the SBJFC the committee is a volunteer has a family and a job so are VERY aware of parent’s time limitations and open to any size contribution.
